A terrible clown, no jokes, no slapstick just a loot and a desire to please. Everyone is scared of Mr Gristle because they think he's a clown who chose that name to perform under and they think he's a bit of a lunatic, maybe even a serial killer. That's his real name though, he's just uncreative and doesn't really fully grasp what a clown is.
